2 "Clan" Events

Clan is in quotes because the chat channel I frequent isn't really a clan in the strictest definition. It began yesterday, probably from boredom and that Merch wasn't online to keep people on the straight and narrow. The brilliant idea: see the KBD. Yeah. Mkai you guys do that; I'll be over here not dying. http://planetsmilies.net/tongue-smiley-8879.gif Cougs used her Ring of Charos (a) to charm me into going with them. The them: Guildwars, Cougarsrule, Eman, Em and I don't know who else. We met at the Jolly Boar Inn in Varrock and Guild led us to the lesser demon area. Halfway there, we got split up - I was with Guild at the red dragons and Cougs lead everyone else to the green dragons south of the lava maze. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Finally, we met up the the lessers on the west side of the maze. We all went down the ladder, then flipped the level. Confusing as there was no organization, so we all got fried except for Em iirc.

This time, we planned. Bring anti dragon shields people. I tele'd to Edgeville to get the extra 2 points in prayer and grabbed a few sets of monk robes. Jolly Boar Inn again and this time I'm leading the train! Gulp. We (same people as before with the addition of Pen Knee) took the scenic route through the forest and some green dragons. Great, down the ladder again and we pretty much used the lever at one time instead of individually. Cougs ran for the treasure chests, or so she told us over chat, and when I ran to face the KBD, there were 2 others there. Seems everyone else had died already. Following Em's lead, I'd tossed up protection from magic prayer before pulling the lever. I died soon and ended up in front of the gates to Camelot (what a silly place). I'd lost one of my anti dragon shields. http://planetsmilies.net/angry-smiley-17084.gif

I'm on the left, Em (I think) is at the top and someone else on the bottom.

Today, I'd hoped to get a farming level and struggle towards 1m hunter XP. I got 85 farming.

The other big thing: Eman. He asked if I had a wild pie. Yeah I had 2 in case someone needed 1 for the Varrock diary. We met at the farming plots at Catherby and I found out why he wanted the pie. He had 1 quest left to get the quest cape: Path of Glouphrie and he didn't have the slayer levels, so he wanted the pies which add +5 to slayer. To each his own, I guess, I would've just trained slayer. He wanted more pies because they only last a short time and the warped terrorbirds are pretty tough for an 86 combatant. I got 7 chompy birds (3 at once!), 7 bear meat and asked where Eman went. Cougs said he logged off to help his brother. Okay, I'll get the rabbit meat, too. Zach made a point about burning the pies even at level 99 cooking and suggested using the Lunar spell, Bake Pie. Sounds good. I switched over to lunar magic, tele'd to my house and made the pies. I freaked someone out at the bank in Yanille with the spell effect. Who uses Lunar magic that much anyway? Now, I have 7 wild pies which are eaten in 2 bites and they should last Eman through the killing of the terrorbirds.

Eman logged on again and I told him about the pies. We met in Falador and I gave him the pies plus some prayer potions, too, because he'd been bitching about needing some. He's off to do the quest and would keep us updated via the clan chat. I returned to hunting prickly kebbits and catching the stray impling that floated by me. Eman was doing okay, until he was in the sewer part where he had to run by warped terrorbirds and mutated tortoises to get to the actual birds to kill. He got lost, so I tried to guide him where to go, but I'd gotten lost there when I did the quest. http://planetsmilies.net/tongue-smiley-8879.gif I told him over chat about some landmarks to look for which apparently helped as he mentioned he'd found the boss monsters. Things went on as the Canting Away crew hurriedly threw on their "good" clothes for the cape party, found their way to Draynor village and waited to hear how he was doing. Eman said, "1 down" and we cheered for him. "2 down" and more cheering, myself chanting "go eman go eman go eman". I'd dressed out in my quest cape, elegant green blouse, Vyrewatch pants and boots, black flowers and even drug my cat, Slash, out of the bank.

The Old Man's tiny room is very small so I waited outside for Eman to get there. Most had brought gifts to celebrate. Myself, I dug out a black heraldic helm (h1) from my treasure chest and saved a spinach roll the Mysterious Old Man (MOM) gave me an hour earlier.

Then, it was a conga line to Falador party room. We had some followers, we moved our asses to Reaver's house in Rimmington. There was a prayer race and my team lost. We had a free-for-all boxing match which Merch won. Reaver randomly dropped stuff outside and I got poison ivy seeds, an acorn and a ruby. After that, we played scavenger hunt. I won by trading a spade to Reaver and got a monkfish. I had to leave at that point because I'd eaten a lot of Twizzlers last night and I had the Hershey squirts.

Into Each Generation

My goal for today is accomplished - 73 slayer. After many hours of exchanging bronze dragons, sea snakes and kurasks for goblins, minotaurs and spiders, I finally got 3 assignments I sank into like a comfy sofa: 121 trolls, 145 fire giants and 123 fire giants. The trolls I killed were in the passage up from the way to the dwarf city, Keldagrim. There's a set of stairs, too, which I'll investigate tomorrow. Fire giants I always fight in the smokey well as I'm usually the only person there. Mostly, the smokey well is used for Desert Treasure questers and dust devil slayage. I did meet up with Mirette7 at the giants, but she was extremely pleasant to fight beside because we shared the 4 giants between ourselves. I buried the bones in the dungeon and eventually got a shade random, which I fought. I had 6 monks left and I wanted to conserve them for my slaying duty, so I tossed up protect from melee prayer. Mirette7 offered food, but I declined with a polite thanks.

The bonuses of today: 82 attack and 103 combat.

Lastly, here's the quote of the day from Merch Gwyar's chat channel, Canting Away:

^Speaking of that, I'm going to look for some of the smilies I use and load up the emoticons.

Road Trip!!

After hearing about Merch's fiasco at the Wilderness agility course, found here, I decided to take a vacation from my day to wander the upper levels of the Gielinor map. I packed up a knife (to cut through webs), a full flask of tea (the Wildy is a dusty, dirty place) and a rope (just in case). I teleported to Trollheim because I wanted to use the shortcut there. I got lost and nearly ended up at God Wars! I found the right shortcut and took it. The walk to my first destination, the lava maze, grew long. I got a bit hungry because I hadn't eaten lunch yet, tea can only satisfy you so much and the maze is pretty long, so I opened the gate by some lesser demons and hopped down the ladder. At the bottom, I notice these pretty red spiders surrounding me. I saw the lever I was supposed to pull - the KBD's doorbell, I guess - and I did just that.

I appeared in a large cavern with lots of red dots on my mini map. This is loose change from scared adventurers. I heard the KBD behind me and before I could turn to give him a hearty hello, he made a toasty Kitt Fox sandwich. Ouch.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I showed up in front of Camelot's gate, none the worse for wear. My supplies were intact. I checked the kwuarm I have growing in Catherby, then tele'd to Varrock for another trip. I hadn't had a decent picture of the Chaos Elemental yet. It keeps exposing my film with its magic spells, but this time I used the digital camera that came with the tea flask to get this shot:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It wasn't happy about getting its picture taken and chased me around the rogue's castle until it grew tired.

Next, let me check out that volcano north of here. I walked briskly along the blackened earth, up hills and through gullies until I found lava floes. There were minor tremors as I explored, but nothing earth shattering happened. I took a chance and walked across the rickety bridge which spans the center of the volcano.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Feeling very brave now as I had seen no other players, I decided to see if I could get into the mage arena basement. I cautiously walked by the Ardougne lever, my eyes hawkishly watching the mini map for white dots. Wait, what? I'm here? I slashed at the 2 webs; it took a minute as my knife must've been dulled from carving out longbows. Okay, another lever. I pulled it and appeared in the basement. I spoke first with Kolodion, the man whom you must defeat to claim a god cape.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Next I spoke to Lundail, the rune shop owner, about adventurers that come here. I tried the sparkling pool, but it merely made my boots wet.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well, I was done there. Time to head west to the agility arena and see what the fuss is all about. I've gone by the place many times on clue scrolls, but never stopped in. I had no idea what to do, so I followed what seemed logical to me at the time: keep right. I fell twice off the initial ledge. Over the ledge, through the pipe, swing, down the ladder (eek, skellies!), hop the lava and oh my god! I found the remains of Merch Gwyar's body! I wish I'd thought to bring my Guthix prayer book in order to say a few words to ease her rest.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I went around once and left, going west through the ice spiders, ice warriors and ice giants. I followed the fence for a bit until I saw a fenced in area to the south. I stepped toward it, noticed it was the area of lesser demons I'd visited earlier. I skipped passed them and found the runite rocks for F2P.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

East of here is Red Dragon Island and my next stop. I still haven't seen anyone looking for a kill. I went through a gate after reading the appropriate Danger! sign. Oh, lookie: red dragons! There is one trapped on an island, but he would not stay still for a photo. I climbed up to the top of a hill and caught this lovely speciman:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's close to time for my herbs to be done growing, so I headed in a southerly direction after getting around the lava protecting the red dragons. I knew I would run across some green dragons eventually and made the choice to get a snapshot or 2 of anyone hunting them. I found 3 such players (who may've been bots or real players, I don't know for certain). I even had time for a refreshing cuppa.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Mission accomplished! I returned to my walk, secure in the knowledge that Edgeville was somewhere to the south of me. I found the Zamorak mage and passed by an Abyssal runecrafter. A skeleton attacked me as I strolled by it. It got one last hit as I jumped the ditch, so I gave it a parting shot of my own:

Askillin' I Will Go

Yesterday was a blah day for RS. I did a bit of this and that and got 82 strength from fire giants which were a slayer task. Stupid Vannaka keeps giving me bronze dragons, sea snakes and stupid shit like that.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Today went better (so far) as I managed a hunter level without falling asleep. I have no clue why it makes me sleepy, but it does. I was coaxing prickly kebbits into getting their heads smashed by a large boulder held up with a flimsy stick. I tried red chinchompas before and did fall asleep. :P
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I visited Miscellania and got my herbs and seeds. I id'ed and made potions, only finding that I fell 8k short of a level. Quickly, I ran through what herbs I had stocked (marrentil and toadflax) and the highest potion I could make with an easy-to-get second ingredient. Agility potions won out, so I went to the gnome stronghold and ripped the legs off 98 toads. Don't worry; the game tells me the poor toads will grow them back. XD
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

In the middle of my leg gathering, Mking asked me to help him with Monkey Madness - play escort through Zooknock's tunnel. Gulp. I agreed with no idea what to do. Oh in theory, I would run along side him, give him pots and food when needed. Yeah, well, it didn't work out that way. He died twice doing it with me. I feel bad even now and said as much after the second death. He told me it was no problem. Merch logged in hours later and things went slam-bam. She organized people and told me what I should be doing - I would run with Mking and play bodyguard as a monkey. Demsla came with us for a while and I learned you can block the monkey jail guards (gorilla greegrees work best). Demsla logged, so it was me, Merch and Mking. Cougarsrule asked to come along (I must've caught her on a bad day as I quite like her now. PS she has large ninja greegrees that I want). The four of us preped with pots and food. I had 88 purple sweets gathering dust in my bank, so I offered them to Mking since they boost energy by 10% and I think that's what helped the most. Mking was running in rune armor at 65 combat. >.< We made it in the end, with me relaying over Canting Away of our progress - we'd gotten ahead of Merch and Cougs who were supposed to be ahead of us and lure the monkeys. At Zooknock, Mking was distressed; he'd forgotten his gold bar. I said I would tele out, grab on from my bank and tele back. Great, he made the monkey amulet!

For run #2, it was just Merch, Mking and myself. Poor Merch; her computer lagged when she went down the ladder to the tunnel. I had to log as my computer was lagging from the antivirus scan. When I returned, the pair were talking the talisman from the baby monkey. I tried distracting the auntie monkey by asking her on a date, using my impressive gorilla bod to entice her away from the garden. She was a hard sell and gave me the brushoff. Now, to the temple. Mking made it fine, but the gorilla guards blocked me. I made it down, trying to recall what wall he's supposed to use the gold bar on. I checked on Zybez to comfirm it's the wall of flame. Mking mentioned he'd forgotten a ball of wool and Merch tele'd to get one. We made it again, only to have more distress - Mking forgot his monkey remains in the bank. >.< When he was enchanting his gold bar, I'd killed a zombie monkey that was attacking him and picked up its bones. What luck, I thought, and offered to trade. They aren't tradeable! Doh! Mking had to call it a night, so we split up by Zooknock. Merch and I didn't want to have Mking run that fucking tunnel for the umpteenth time, so we both tele'd to Karamja to see if a monkey corpse was tradeable. Sadly, it isn't and I got stuck with a dead monkey in my pack. I tried some ventriloquism with it until 5 people showed up out of nowhere, then dropped it because I'm sure they'd thought I was a total nutjob.

Tomorrow, more MM.

*cries pitiously*

A Simple Thanks

To those players who decided to fight the Zamorak mages, rangers and warriors along the ZMI altar short route yesterday and today:

Thanks.

Yesterday, I began the trek to leveling runecrafting. Really power-leveling tbh, which isn't easy when I normally make runes when I need them. I'd mined over 10k p ess and thought it might be enough for level 75, but it wasn't. I needed to mine another 2k or so. A bit of math here: I carried 3 pouches (small, medium, large) which gave me 41 p ess to craft. I used the Moonclan/Ourainia teleports, meaning I carried astrals and laws with me at all times. My equipment was a mud staff, black d hide body and chaps, mind helm, mind shield, boots of lightness, spottier cape and glory ammy. I gained an average of 700XP per run and kept my pouches fixed about every 1k ess used.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Double chaos is exciting! I sell them for tokkul

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
54 ess with all 4 pouches. w00tage!

For the other minor goal I have: hunter, prayer, slayer and smithing are left to get to 1M XP each. Smithing is very close. Prayer and hunter will take more time. I'm still on lunar magic (in case Merch gets talked into do DT soon), so I can use NPC Contact for slayer.

Stop! ZMI Time!

Yesterday and today, I mined pure essence for runecrafting. My goal amount was around 10k or whatever got me to level 79 mining. So, I ended up with 10k+ p ess banked and had to make a decision on what to craft with it. Should I stick with nature runes, which I do need as I only had 2.3k at the time, or risk it all using the new ZMI altar? Well, since I wanted the XP more than the runes, I gambled with the new altar.

Firstly, I traveled to Moonclan island and swapped my regular magic book for Lunar spells. Second, I grabbed my mud staff, pouches, tele runes (50 astral and 50 law), spottier cape, boots of lightness, seal of passage and 43 p ess. World 70, as of this post, is the ZMI altar world. If you want to train runecrafting with a ton of people, this is the place to go.

I started off at level 73 with about 96k XP to level 74 and 10k+ p ess to play with. When I logged off for tonight, I had just under 36k XP to level 74 and 7300+ p ess left. I had to run to the Abyss north of Edgeville to get my pouches repaired and keep making 43 runes per trip. The large pouch starts degrading after 1k ess or so. I'm hoping and praying this will be enough to get me to level 75, so I can use my giant pouch and runecraft at my leisure. I've never been a huge runecraft-for-XP fan; instead making rune as I needed them and trying to keep above the 2k mark for nats, laws and cosmics.

Too tired to post much. Ess mining is boring as hell, but I got 6100 pure ess today. I got 2 levels today:

If I Could Only Merchant...

I burned shades today and raided tombs. As I was burning, I realized you get firemaking XP along with prayer! XD

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The haul from the tombs:
addy spear 31
black spear 17
addy full helm 25
fine cloth 60 (not alched)
power amulet 17
addy skirt 10
rune medium helm 11
mith plate 16
addy kite shield 11
rune sword 8
addy longsword 12
mith skirt 12
death runes 426 (not alched)
black plate 17
swamp paste 3229 (not alched)
gold coins 598,367 (not alched)
addy plate 14
addy spear p 32
rune scimitar 9 (not alched)
addy legs 8
addy baxe 7
addy 2h 8 (not alched)
flametaer hammer 17 (alched 10)
addy warhammer 12
rune chainmail 6
yew logs 62 (fletched to longbows, strung and alched)
magic logs 37 (fletched to longbows, strung and alched)
addy square shield 21 (not alched)
blood runes 256 (not alched)
diamond ring 7
battlestaves 4 (made into air battlestaves and alched)
addy chainmail 5
rune longsword 2
clue scroll 1 (worked until I got coordinates in the Wildy, then dropped)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Unless noted, everything was hi alched for a whopping result of 1,248,982 gold pieces. 8o The addy square shields and addy 2h are needed in a couple clue scrolls and I save them for the odd moment when someone's desperate to buy one. It takes time, but shade burning is definitely worth the trouble. Imagine how much more gold I could've had if I'd been able to sell to other players instead of hi alching.

I mentioned firemaking XP earlier. I checked my XP on a calculator and was only 24,300 XP from level 91, so I burned 180 maple logs and got this:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I alched at the gnome stronghold because I used the spirit trees to see if the one I'm growing on Brimhaven is done yet (it's not). I picked flax and spun it into bow strings for my longbows, noted up and proceeded to alch my heart out. I logged out for a potty break and when I logged back in, this bonehead was blabbering away:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Some of the conversation got cut out as he was wanting to kill himself and I, being the mean bitch, told him to do it so we could have peace and quiet. Boy, he got very worried when I said I was posting this on a fansite!

I think I'm going to do some dangerous things either tonight or tomorrow, such as visit the top floor of the ranging guild and see where the KBD lives.

Yes, I'm avoiding mining rune essence. Can you tell? lol

My Wheat Thins Tried To Kill Me

Finally, all those shade remains are mine! Mwuhahahaha!!1!!!!shiftone!!11! While dealing death to the undead, I got a defense level.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Also, I was snacking on Wheat Thins out of the box. The stupid crackers kept getting trapped in a fold along the edge of the inner bag. While growling at the box because I'd dumped half of its contents in my lap, my health had gotten shredded down to 10hp. :o I glanced up in time to scarf a monkfish, only to see a shade tart slap me for 10 damage. Grrr...

So, tomorrow it's check my trees first, then hop down to Mort'ton for some pyromania. While I was banking, I got the Drunken Dwarf random. I spoke to him and he gave me the obligatory beer and kebab. I quaffed the beer happily and munched down the kebab. Ugggh. Bad kebab did this:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My crystal shield reverted to seed form this morning. I've been stockpiling arrows, so I really don't need the crystal bow yet. :P

My total level is now 1880. What a nice year.

Altar-native Experience

Wasn't I complaining about a runecrafting mini game not long ago? Eh, maybe it was only in my head. Today marks the first appearance of the Zamorakian Magical Institute (ZMI, though I may call it ZIM on accident). Wander south of Ardy and west of the Kharzard battlefield to where Zamorak monks and red lizards frolic, then follow the path to the chaos altar. Talk to the Zamorak mage and he'll tell you his people found a new altar, but it's unstable. There's a bank (re: guy with big fucking backpack) but it costs 20 runes per access to your account. Here are some pics of what it looks like:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

There are 2 ways to the altar: the short way with attacking NPCs and the long way that's skiller friendly. I tried both ways and the shorter route is faster, though more dangerous if you're a lower combat level. I wore spottier cape and boots of lightness with a mud staff and took little or no damage. I think the most I got hit for was 6. Below is a Zamorak mage attacking someone:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

In the below pic, I showed what runes the altar gave me. I used the fire runes for banking. Here's the altar itself:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

There's a crack in a wall to get to the altar on the safe route. You don't need any agility skill to use it.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The down-lo: use ZMI if you want XP. Use the Abyss or a normal route to your altar of choice if you want cash.

I managed to cut the mage logs (567) for shade burning. Now I get to kill 567 fiyr shades so I have something to burn. All this woodcutting got me within 40k XP of level 90.

Monday, September 17, 2007

Hey, Hey

I started the day off nicely by getting dragon scale from Taverly dungeon and grinding each one to a powder. Then I had to do some IRL stuff. I came back, not really wanting to restock seconds anymore. So, I got this brilliant idea to make the monkey greegrees I don't have, except for the large ninja one as it's a bit close to lure him out vs. getting caught. I killed a bearded monkey guard which wasn't hard at all. Next, I killed a large zombie monkey below the temple. Damn, their bones are tiny! Egghebrecht had casually mentioned a few days ago about whether you could make a greegrees from the monkey bones of the monkeys on Mos le Harmless. Here's a learning experience that I could pass on to future players, so I killed the monkey after it refused to share the whereabouts of "special bananas".

I'd been hanging on Merch's chat and mentioned I was going to brave Zooknock's tunnel again. Merch was standing at the ladder down when I got there after buying 2 more talismen; she as a gorilla and myself as a zombie monkey. Tip: zombie monkeys don't run. XD Happily, the only damage I was taking was from traps and poison. Those super energy and prayer pots I brought were a waste. I made my greegrees. BTW, the Mos le Harmless monkey becomes a Karamja monkey as a greegrees and you can have more than 1 greegrees type as I now have 3 Karamja monkey ones. :P

I built on the Mort'ton temple just to get rid of the timbers and limestone bricks in my bank. It was very quiet there tonight, a rare thing.

Okay, back to gathering seconds.

But wait! Merch doesn't have red dhide for ranging armor. I thought about making her a set for her bday a few weeks ago, but she said she was buying a set off Whiskas, but Whiskas hasn't been heard from for a while. I geared up for melee and set out for the deadly Brimhaven dungeon. My first foray to killing red dragons went extremely well; I was to the point of what should I drop to make room for the hides and bones. Great, I'd gotten 10 hides and bones my first time. My second trip wasn't as fruitful. Only 3 hides and bones using the same inventory as the other time. :/ Ah well, it's okay as that's 2 sets of full red dhide and a pair of vambs for me to alch.

Now, back to getting seconds.

Not! I could pop over to my PoH and use these bones on my gilded altar! And I could make those Zamorak brews with the Greenman's ale keg I have in my kitchen. Yeah, that's what I'll do. I found out you can eat jangerberries. XD At least they aren't poisonous!

I use the Kharyll teleport in my PoH and start getting Mort Myre fungi. I get a giggle when I leave the swamp: You happily skip out of Mort Myre. :) Tele to Ardy and kill some newtroosts and spidines for newt eyes and red spider eggs. I logged out after setting myself up on Miscellania with the hopes that I'll go back to Ardy and finish getting those spider eggs.

If You Build It, They Will Come

I checked on my fruit trees, then hit Miscellainia to see what they had for me. Oh, many herbs and more seeds! I managed to get halfway to 78 herblore with 66k+ to go. I have more trees to farm and finished the night by planting the last wood trees - maples. I also got another spirit seed which I'll plant when the one that's growing now is done growing. :P

Now, I'm low on seconds and vials for potions. Getting the seconds isn't too hard, mostly running around or a bit of combat at Creature Creation. Vials I could either make or buy, so I checked Taverly first. Only 11 in stock. Did I want to tap dance around rock crabs to get seaweed? Uh not really. Alternatively, I could do something that would help train crafting, woodcutting, combat, firemaking and prayer and get me more money. Yes, shade burning time again! Firstly, I got the oil I wanted for 546 burnings, then got limestone and timber for building the temple. It took me about 4 hours to make all that olive oil sacred, but I did it. I was frustrated though since it seemed people were conspiring to keep me from straight-out clicking on the sacred flame. I resorted to right clicking and sorting through names which too longer. Someone asked, "Why do you people do this?" Many answers popped up - crafting XP, it's fun, shade burning, but this took the cake:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

XD

I peeked into Merch's chat channel Canting Away. It was all right; not what I expected since there weren't a ton of people on. I will say that Cougar came off as whiny and manipulative: she kept asking for help while doing Regicide, but refused to stay in one spot; she kept getting lost and wouldn't stay put until someone could help in game; she complained about being sick and couldn't understand that not eating does that sometimes. I know she's Merch's friend and all, but I so wanted to bitch slap her through the monitor. :S

Tomorrow: second gathering and magic tree cutting.

Last Level For The Night

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Dorgeshuun agility area is a quiet place. I saw one other person there and he left shortly after I arrived. I scurried along the ladders, through tunnels and leaped across gorges with only an aging rope for safety for 2 hours. I fell 4 times.

More Levels Than You Can Shake A Stick At

To begin, I saved up all my news for 3 days for today.

Thursday: Woodcutting and fletching
I cut down the magic logs and made longbows out of them, then alched them.

Friday: Thieving and Farming
I decided to plant a jangerberry bush so I can have the berries for making Zamorak potions when I get 78 herblore. I have some nice torstol saved and I thought it would be better to be prepared than have to run around in circles on the ogre island south of Yanille (the island with the rope swing). As any good person should, I tele'd to Ardougne and held the master farmer up with my pretty black flowers until he gave me the seeds I wanted. :P I really needed more watermelons because I only had 20 banked! :o Anyway, I got what I needed and more, so I farmed and even went as far as using the allotment between Canifis and Port Phasmatys for strawberries and limpwurt root. Yes, after the VAD, I'm keeping ahold of these so I won't get caught short (again). Curiosity had me wearing my crystal shield while I thieved as I wondered if getting caught (yes, even level 99 thieves get caught) would degrade it. Surprise! It does!

Saturday (today): The Slayer
I've been close to leveling my melee skills for a while and, instead of putting it off, I talked to Vannakka for some assignments. Apparently, Turael will have to talk to him, too, as he kept giving me abberant spectres, sea snakes, kurask and crocodiles. What happened to the fire giants and harpie bug swarms you use to load on me? *sigh* I did get werewolves and locked myself in the general store with a couple, who kept opening the door. Then, this little guy flew in and hung out for 5 minutes.

Now to kalaphites for:

Well, I thought about a short term goal and came up with one. I'm going to get these skills - runecrafting, prayer, slayer, hunter, agility and smithing - over 1M XP. Prayer is so lagging behind and I'm being lazy about getting bones. I'm thinking about checking out these skeletal wyverns and stocking up on baby dragon bones.

Oh Boy!

I farmed sweetcorn at Catherby all day and cut yew trees while the corn grew. After the day's harvest, I netted over 200 sweetcorn to pay gardeners to keep an eye on any apple trees I may plant. The yew logs were fletched into longbows this even. Along with the magic logs from yesterday, I happily gained 88 fletching.

After alching the lot, I'm back over 13M and 140k from leveling mage. I was very close to gaining a farming level, too, so I checked vainly over the pineapple bushes. Holy cow, one had grown today despite my logging in and out for potty and food breaks.

While I was alching, Aalex (all I recall) offered: buying cannon 10m! I asked if he was serious and he said he was; I thought he was but things were going a bit quick in the chat. I hurriedly got my cannon out of storage, cleaned out the family of dustbunnies and told Aalex that I would sell my cannon. He left the bank. I added him for a moment, just to see if he was nearby, but he'd disappeared. Sighing, I stuffed my cannon back in the bank. Later, Aalex returned and was selling miscellaneous stuff such as 26 flax and a burnt shark.

I still have 300 bowstrings to use, so it's back to cutting mage trees and fletching the logs. It brings me money which supports my kingdom.

Kitt Fox Needs Hats Badly

Or VAD 2: Electric Boogaloo.

The stupid cat medal. So, I bought a new kitten yesterday and because I was also doing laundry, it took until this morning for the little furball to grow up. The kitten caught 31 hellrats last night and as a cat caught 119. It was still a normal cat. <_< even though it's for a different cat.

The highlight of the VAD was Merch Gwyar saving my bacon. I needed to have the apothecary make me a strength potion. Red spider eggs, no problem as I had to grab one for the VAD anyway. I hit the hill giants under Edgeville; they were surprisingly devoid of the usual crowd of people. I looked like a dork whacking giants with a pick and no armor, but I killed a lot and still didn't get a limpwurt root. Merch was on, so I PMed her and asked if she had any. She did and we traded up. If you see her, tell her she looks smexy with her d scimmy, mkay? :P

Today I unlocked all the balloon journeys. Zybez has a great guide on these, found here.

I had to kill SoS monsters to get the skull sceptre for VAD and one of the minotaurs dropped a clue scroll. It lead to this:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket. I'm going to hang onto the blouse in the hopes that I'll get the skirt/pants that go with it. I do have a selling thread on Sal's and the OF (300k cash) if anyone's interested. Before I posted that I was selling the blouse, I checked out Sal's to see if anyone was buying one. Kalipop had a "Costume Room Clearance Sale" with a ton of TT items. I looked things over and saw he had 2 black berets and a boater set. Something possessed me and I made an offer on the boater set and 1 black beret for 670k total. We met up at his PoH (nice digs :)) and made the trade. The beret doesn't look as cool on me as it does on other people.

I now need more money, so I'm cutting magics and yews at the gnome stronghold to fletch into longbows and hi alch.

Varrock Achievement Diary

Though having an achievement diary about Varrock feels a bit lame to me, I'm working my way through the tasks. My one complaint so far concerns getting a cat training medal from Gertrude. I have one already, but I'm willing to get another. Problem - you need to have a new kitten to get it. I tried with Slash, my wily hellcat, for the past hour and caught 100 rats. I talk to Gertrude, hoping the message not popping up is a mistake, but it's not. I was forced to buy a new kitten to get this done. If Jagex had come right out and said: Any player who already has a cat training medal will need to get a new kitten to gain another medal, I wouldn't be so pissed.

The other part I'm not looking forward to - enchanting an air orb at the air obelisk in the Wildy. I should be able to 3 item no problem. I'll add more later after I raise up my new kitten. Slash asked for a female, so I picked out a pretty little calico.

Vacuumed Face of Death

Today was dust devil clearing day. I wasn't there for any spectacular drops, but to get my crystal shield back to seed form.

I kept track of how many dusties I killed, any decent drops and the random events. I also got 81 defense. Earlier today I met Triluk in the smokey well. He was very nice, offering me food, but I declined with a thank you. :)

Equipment:
rune plate
d skirt
barrows gloves
climbing boots
facemask
ring of wealth (RoW)
crystal shield
d scimmy

Dusties Killed:
247

Average number killed per bank run:
62

Random events:
2 strange plants
MOM
Security guard
Drill Demon

Noteworthy drops:
2 red dhide vambrances
2 earth battlestaves
rune dagger
40 soul runes

Regular drops:
fire and chaos runes
gold
rune arrows
gems
ugthanki kebabs

My shield dropped from 7/10 to 5/10. I may go back tomorrow for more. I caught up with WWdN today, so my brain will hopefully switch back to paying attention to RS.

Dear Chaeldar and Duradel,

To make my slaying more comfortable for the three of us, here is a listing of monsters I refuse to kill:

- aberrant spectres
- hellhounds
- kurask
- any color metal dragons
- spiritual anythings

Turael said it was okay to send this letter to you two, since he is pretty sick of telling me to go kill 28 monkeys. If you don't stop giving me these assignments, the next time I speak to Turael about trading down, he will bitch slap the pair of you back into the 3rd Age.

Yours truly,
Kitt Fox

Ogre Forester

I got a new chompy hat - ogre forester. Well, I don't *have* the hat, but Rantz is holding onto it for me.

I haven't felt good most of the day, so it was a lot of log out/log in today.

I farmed all my herb seeds and am babying a calquat tree to fruition. My nature ammy is tuned to that patch and I'm standing in front of it with secateurs in hand. I've got many fruit trees to plant this week which should get me to 84 farming some time.

Did a bit of slayer but Chaedlar kept giving me hellhounds. No. Look, would it be easier if I gave you a list of creatures I won't touch with a barge pole so you will stop giving me metal dragons and such?

Since I still have my crystal shield, I was thinking about making a dust devil log. I highly doubt I'll get and dragon-related items (d chain, d shield half, d spear), but they drop fairly useful items.

To end on a happy note: if you have access to Lunar magics, change your spellbook to lunar and cast NPC Contact. Choose to talk to Lanthus, the NPC in charge of CW. Trust me, it's funny. Cyrisus is off to fight the KQ and taking some slayer masters as back up!

Random Things

A few random levels I got last night and today:

I had a bad start to the morning. A mouse woke me up at 5 am. It was screaming every minute because it got stuck to a glue trap. I hate being woken up from a sleep by crap like that (babies excluded). I ended up napping for an hour in the afternoon which seemed okay but didn't help at all.

Mostly I did slayer. I talk to Chaedlar in Zanaris and she gave me kurask. Oh boy! I hadn't done them before, so I got out my leaf-bladed spear and trucked to the backend of the Fremmy slayer caves. Yuck. My food went too quickly, so I Burthorped it and did some cave crawlers. Chaedlar next gave me dust devils. My first time with those also. I was worried about how long I would last because the few dust devil guides suggest barrows armor (Guthans or Torags) or ranging. I had no arrows, so melee it was. Surprisingly easy. My best drop was an earth battlestaff. Next up, more kurask. Ah, no. Burthorped it for kalaphites, then got cave horrors. Wow; great drops of snapdragon, toadflax, belladonna and torstol! I also got another black mask and 2 clue scrolls. The first scroll was coordinates in the Wilderness, so I pitched it and the next drop was another clue scroll. I did the second one and I did go into the Wildy twice, but they were dig by the agility course and look in a crate at the Dark Fortress. I got a rune pick, 2 rune axes, black dhide chaps, 11 purple sweets and 13 green firelighters.

I dumped most of the items I had saved for level 1 clues and did a bit of fletching of the yew logs I'd chopped yesterday while farming. School is in session for Canada/U.S./Europe, so the yew trees south of the flax field at Seer's were empty until around 6pm. I grew corn, strawberries and watermelons. That last batch of melons sucked ass - only 9 with the magic secateurs! >:[ I have more farming to do tomorrow with all those herb seeds I got today. I topped up the Misc. coffers to 1.6M.

I did runecraft a couple days ago and decided to try out a tip Teacuptime mentioned with degraded pouches - leave the pouches in the bank as the dark wizard will fix them anyway. It works! I won't have to keep getting new ones from abyssal leeches. Thanks! Speaking of runecrafting, I mined a bunch of pure essense, too, and noticed only 3 bots. Either Jagex is getting better at banning them so they can't get back on or the people running the bot programs are in school.

Here's the fattest lazy cat I've seen so far in RS. Boy that butt is huge! There are lazy hellcats that are larger in the behind.

Fuck you, Uncle Ben

I work hard to get a 99 skill for one simple reason: to get the pressure of training it off my back. I had no idea that being a Cape of Accomplishment (CoA) owner brought such responsibilities! For all the CoA, there are certain rules a wearer of such a cape must abide by:

1. You must do the CoA emote whenever asked, no matter what you are doing at the time.

2. You must know everything about the skill you have a CoA and be ready to lend assistance to anyone asking for help. For Quest Cape owners, you must be able, upon demand, to recall every detail of every quest in RuneScape; answer any and all questions about any quest; stop whatever you are doing to babysit someone during a quest.

3. You must answer any and all questions in less than 5 seconds. When you take longer than 5 seconds to answer, you are a no-lifing, n00b loser.

Each CoA also has its own rules. I can only speak of the 4 CoA I own (cooking, fishing, thieving and quest).

Cooking CoA:
- You are a n00b with the n00biest cape in all of Gielinor. No matter the time it took to get this skill to 99, you should feel shame when you wear it.
- You know the closest range and/or fire to a bank.
- You have tons of cooked food to give out to people.
- You will cook any kind of food for anyone asking.

Quest CoA:
- You know everything about every quest and will recall all details when asked.
- You will babysit/bodyguard anyone on any quest at any time.

Fishing CoA:
- You always have raw lobsters and/or sharks, at least 10k of each type, in your bank.
- You will give free fish to anyone asking.
- You will trade raw fish for cooked fish of the same type.

Thieving CoA:
- You have millions of gold coins.
- You did Pyramid Plunder to level.
- You will give out money to anyone who asks and calling the asker a beggar makes you a n00b.
- You should feel shame for wearing the CoA with the lamest emote.

Angel Furies askes me to lend him/her 2M. S/he couldn't understand why I refused. I called him/her a beggar and s/he said s/he wasn't a beggar but asking me to lend him/her 2M. I said I don't give money to strangers.

I farmed today. Just one more sweetcorn planting tonight and I'll move on to other things like slayer.

Beggars Can't Be Choosers

While I was doing TT today, I got one where I needed to shrug in Rimmington's mine. I got the gold necklace, gold ring and bronze spear from my bank and sauntered from Varrock, passed the outer wall of Falador, through the cabbage patch and across the grassy knoll by the mine. Just outside of the west gate of Varrock, I have Q U A T R Y begin taxiing on me. God I hate being someone's free ride because they're too lazy to click a mouse button. The conversation we had is to the right.

Yeah, I figured the second I told him if I was black IRL, he'd toss out "Nigger" and it'd be report time. Not the first time I've run into this shit, but, thank gods, it's few and far between each episode. I still haven't discovered why the color of my or my avatar's skin is such a big deal. I guess that says a lot about me.

And I had another beggar tonight. I didn't catch his name, but I'm sure he remembers me as the level 101 in the thieving cape who wouldn't give him money to buy dragon boots in Falador. The gist of the conversation was this:

Him: Kitt Fox
Me: What?
Him: Will you give me money so I can buy d boots?
Me: I don't give money to beggars.
Him: I'm not begging.
Me: You're asking for free money.
Someone Else: dude, no1 is going to give u 1M
Him: They only cost 600k, noob

I left them arguing over the price of dragon boots while I mugged a guard on my way to the bank.

Best part of today: I meet up with Merch and gave her the Guthix page I saved from earlier. She thanked me profusely, especially when I gave it for free. I could've charged 40k for it, but I like Merch and I know how hard it is to get your prayer book fixed without getting price gouged *cough*Zammypages*cough*. We went our separate ways. I tele'd to Lumby and returned to my "job" as a Pocket Lint Inspector for Humans Against Monsters (H.A.M.). All the crap those people hold onto is amazing. The very next clue scroll I get rewards me with a Guthix page 3. I PM Merch and ask if she wants this page, too. I can sense her excitement through the PM and we meet in Draynor for the trade. Now, she has a Book of Balance and we share a preaching session from the Book. I quickly get out my Holy (Saradomin) Book and preach out the Last Rites, which is hilarious.

A good day. No beret yet and my bank is full of junk for emote clues so I don't have to run around too much. The Bob the Cat shirt is black btw. I have no clue what to do tomorrow though. Maybe some slayer to get that leveled and get my crystal shield damaged. I want my crystal bow back, but it's cheaper to charge the seed as a shield as of now. I have been toying with the idea of buying a new crystal bow from Islwyn for 900k. Range is looking appealing to train, too, as the crystal bow required no arrows.

EDIT: I found a little note in my notebook I forgot to mention earlier. Giggs613 offered to buy my thieving hood for 90k. ROFL!

Still at 6s and 7s

I'm still lost at what to train atm. I got it into my head yesterday to start getting pizazz points for full infinity robes and that lasted until I had to go into the Graveyard. It's the most boring part of the Mage Training Arena.

Today, it's clue scroll day and here's the list o' good stuff so far (more pics may be added later):

Finally a Bob t-shirt! It tells me to get a bank pin which I have. :) That's Guthix page 2 for Merch Gwyar.

Something nifty I saw:

They are much cooler up close but the little bastard kept flying away. <_<

Have you ever wondered who's watching you copycat the mime?

Yeah, I wasn't impressed either, except to get a clearer pic of my cape.

Path of Glouphrie

A new quest which I smartly waited for guides to come out. Of course, the hardest part (imo) of the whole thing was the dungeon you get to after healing the spirit tree. Did anyone have a map? No. Zybez had directions that were helpful, but I still ran around like a hyperactive person off her meds. Sal's was okay for the most part, but not what I expected considering some of the last few quest guides published there. I think Neo Avatars was more concerned with a fast quest walkthru. The guide I used for most of the quest was at RuneHQ. Bits of advice from me:

- take an extra grapple in case yours breaks
- protection from missiles prayer is your friend; use it when running like an escaped loony through the sewer rooms as the terrorbirds are the real threat
- the warped turtles were harmless (to me)

I wore rune full helm, rune plate, rune legs, granite shield, climbing boots, unholy symbol, thieving cape, barrows gloves and ring of dueling. Weapon of choice: d scimitar. I wanted some things to boost my prayer and I had +12 with this set-up which was fine. I drank 1 (4) prayer pot and 1 dose of a combat potion. I ate 4 tuna and corn taters (heals 22). I was very nervous about the sewer tunnels and my hands were shaking very, very badly. My husband helped a lot by directing me where to run and patting my head when I did. I took some breaks at the doors to get my bearings and let my energy boost up again.

It was an okay quest until the final fight. Will Jagex learn that making a boss or boss fight harder isn't equivalent to a good quest? When will a non-combat skills quest arrive? ME2, while 1 I hate because of the puzzle aspect, is the only "hard" quest where you don't need a high combat level to complete.

Bones Are For Burying

Finally, all my stats are 70+. I did a lot of Ectoing today, moving from zogre to baby dragon bones, then using the gilded altar in my PoH to finish off the last bit of it. Prayer is still my lowest skill. :P With that out of the way, I really have no excuse not to return to runecrafting tomorrow.

While I was Ectoing, I ran into another player, Sbulldog, who threw me for a loop. He'd been grinding bones a couple of times, then asked where to get bones. o_O Oh. My. God. I told him to go kill monsters. He asked again, much later and I recommended the chickens at the farm west of the Ectofuntus. Very, very odd.

I ranged baby blues until I ran out of arrows, then meleed them which didn't boost my attack level too much. Taverly was full, so I had to world hop twice. Yes, even the baby dragons were hard to get to yourself. Because I keep an eye out on the mini map for red dots, I scored 20 blue d hides to craft later. :)

My short term goals are all completed and I can't think of any off-hand to replace them. I was thinking about opening up the hot air balloon traveling, but I really should get back to boring ol' runecrafting in Yanille. *sigh* It's hard now because it takes several thousand essence to craft to gain a level, which means too much mining because I'll be buggered if I buy pure essence in bulk to support those damned bots.

Troll Much?

Normally I wouldn't advertise for a forum troll, but this is unadulterated bullshit that doesn't belong in the RuneScape General Discussion section.

See You In September

Here are my high scores for this month, in case you're keeping track of how I compare to other RSers and how I've risen/fallen in ranks. Yes, I got all the skills, too. :P

This weekend, so far, has been dedicated to leveling prayer. I make it more complicated than it needs to be though. I like how my melee stats are at an even 80, so that leaves me with range, mage or buying bones. Mage I'll have to make a ton of runes, I bite at merchanting which leaves range. Best place I've found is - are you ready? - Jiggig by CW. Really. I made 300 steel brutal arrows quickly, thanks to my hoarding habits, and threw on my ranging outfit. Using the fairy rings, I tele'd south of where I wanted to be and walked into the zogre and skogre filled area until I reached the back where the stairs down are. There's a safe spot on the east side of the stairs on the other side of 2 rock piles and I happily fired brutals into the rotting, walking corpses of ogres. My arrows went fast as I was on rapid style and I picked up the zogre bones and coffin keys along with the brutals. When I had 27 spaces filled, I used the coffin keys on a nearby coffin to get more bones (some zogre and some ancestral bones) and a few bits of crap that I dropped on the ground. As my inventory filled, I banked at CW and then returned to ranging until the arrows were gone.

Now I began the process of Ectofunting (using the Ectofuntus) all these bones. I had already over 300 buckets of slime - I use the dueling ring>CW bank>Ectophial>Ectofuntus method to get slime. It means you need a good supply of empty buckets to start. I put on my ghostpeak amulet, got 13 pots and my Ectophial out of the bank and tele'd to Port Phasmatys. I had a good feel going for walking to the bank and teleporting back to the Ectofuntus. It got boring halfway through, but I kept going by eating Jos Louis (chocolate covered Moon Pies to non-Canadians). In the midst of my bone grinding, someone asked if I was going for 70 prayer. I replied that I was and was told that a gilded altar is faster. He left before my response showed: Then why are you here...

The only way to train prayer from 65+ is with a gilded altar? ORLY? o_O

Don't buy into that because it's bullshit. People that say that are into speed training, or leveling as fast as possible. Guess what, kids? Some people don't gives a rat's ass about the "fastest" training method. Personally, I'd rather have the extra XP the Ectofuntus gives over a gilded altar and I haven't found there to be that big of a difference between the two. They balance out in the end: gilded is faster, but less XP per trip while Ectofunting is slower, but gives more XP per trip. Some advice: I don't tell you how to wipe your ass, so don't tell me how to wipe mine.

Anyway, I got 69 prayer today. I like my method because there aren't people to fight with at Jiggig, unlike blue dragons. I need to make more brutal arrows which may use up all the steel bars and feathers I have stocked. Oh well, maybe I should mine some iron and do some chompy hunting tonight. I think I only need 50 more chompy kills to get a new hat.
